Salm-Eye-Emm & Crew.
Fishing is a passion of both Captain Mike and First Mate Bridgett! From sun up to sun down, they plan to make your trip a fun and exciting adventure. From the novice to the seasoned fisherman, guests appreciate the comfort, laughter, and oh yeah...the catch...provided by the professionalism and experience provided by Salm-Eye-Emm Charters.
As a couple, Captain Mike and First Mate Bridgett have covered a lot of the Great Lakes waterways. Some of their haunts include the western Lake Erie basin, St Jo-Benton Harbor on Lake Michigan and all along Lake Huron. Their favorite and current fishing grounds are the Northern Straits of Mackinac where the Salm-Eye-Emm hails its home port of Cheboygan, MI. The waters of northern Lake Huron have time and again proven to be fishing friendly and offer outstanding local amenities and ports of call such as family friendly Cheboygan, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island and St. Ignace. Great fish and great vacation sites help make your Salm-Eye-Emm charter a memorable trip!
Your fishing excursion can be customized to your needs and preferences. The full details of your trip and itinerary will be finalized with Captain Mike at the time of booking, but typically half day morning trips pull out before dawn and return around noon. Evening trips typically head out to fishing grounds around 4:00pm and end after dusk. Of course if the fish are jumping in the boat, impromptu modifications in your itinerary can be discussed aboard the Salm-Eye-Emm with Captain Mike!
For early morning departures, coffee is on and ready before sunrise for guests heading out into the beautiful Northern Michigan waterways for an exciting day of fishing. Later in the day snacks of smoked salmon, salmon spread and cheese and crackers are provided by First Mate Bridgett; that is of course if the rods aren't poppin' and the fish aren't floppin' on the back deck!
Back at the dock your top notch charter experience continues with proper care of your catch. Fish are cleaned, filleted and vacuum sealed for your convenience and a fresh preservation of the days haul. As a special courtesy to Salm-Eye-Emm charter guests, fish can also be frozen for next day pick-up.
From start to finish, Captain Mike and First Mate Bridgett combine their experience, outstanding vessel and special touches to ensure your trip is a success!

First Mate Bridgett.
Captain Mike's wife and First Mate, Bridgett, is also a well seasoned boater and fisherman who grew up on a lake in Southern Michigan. She has been fishing all of her life, especially with her father who was a Captain in the U.S. Coast Guard that piloted a river tour boat in Toledo, OH. As far as First Mate Bridgett was concerned, no "I Do's" would be spoken until the fishing vessel was purchased. After all, angling til death do us part was a paramount part of the marriage vows!
